Heat & Glo: Primo II 48

An 18-inch-tall linear fire with a liner, light, and finish chosen by you.

Quick Facts

• Heating Capacity: 1,150–2,250 sq ft
• Viewing Area: 48″ wide and 18″ tall.
• Fuel: Natural gas or propane.
• Controls: Touchscreen remote included; wireless control optional.

Who It’s For

Most linear fireplaces are long and short, and the flame can look thin from across the room. A modern fire should have height as well as width. You need a linear fire with a taller view. The Primo II 48 is for the design-minded homeowner who wants to pick the interior, the light color, and the fuel bed. Pick a basic linear and the fire looks flat; pick the Primo II 48 and it looks tailored.

What Makes It Special

The glass is 18 inches tall, so the flame reads from every seat, not only the one straight ahead.

You choose the interior: architectural fiber, stone column fiber, or black glass in fluted, marbled, or reflective finishes. Multi-colored LED lights and a touchscreen remote come with it, and an optional duct kit can send warmth to another room up to 25 feet away.

Possible Downsides

• The barrier glass, liner, and glass media are all required and sold separately. Plan on three or four bags of media.
• Stones cannot be used with logs.

If you want a linear fire with height and a look you design, the Primo II 48 is the right decision. The tall flame glows in the color you picked, and the room feels custom.

Choose an architectural fiber, stone column, or fluted, marbled, or reflective black glass liner; copper, crystal, graphite, or smoked glass embers with river rock or birch, driftwood, or traditional logs; and add the heat zone duct kit.
