Who It’s For

An open floor plan swallows a small fire. It looks fine from the couch and lost from the kitchen. You need a fireplace with enough presence and output to anchor a big room, without paying for features you will not use. The SlimLine 9 is the largest of the three standard SlimLine models, a log fireplace built for a great room that wants more fire, not more gadgets.

What Makes It Special

It has the highest heat output of the standard SlimLine models, so the warmth reaches past the first row of seating. Five ceramic logs and glowing embers sit behind tempered glass, and electronic ignition with battery backup means no pilot burning between fires.

The face is still yours to choose from the five SlimLine front styles, and the interior can be reflective black glass or Stratford brick.

Possible Downsides

• A front is required to complete it.
• The remote and fan are add-ons. The SlimLine 9X includes both.

If your living space is big and you want a log fire that holds its own in it, the SlimLine 9 is the right decision. The fire reads from across the room, and the room finally has a center.
