Cooking on a smoker is an incredible experience—offering unique tastes and flavor profiles hard to find elsewhere. Smokers aren’t just for barbecue. Smoking can be applied to a wide range of dishes beyond just meats and vegetables.

Smoked Chex Mix – Be the Life of the Party

This recipe involves creating a spiced butter that you can rub the Chex Mix with before putting it in the smoker to infuse it with a distinctive smoky flavor:

  1. Add 4 cups of Chex Mix to a smoker-safe dish.
  2. Combine half a stick of butter with two tablespoons of hot sauce, half a tablespoon of garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika each, and a teaspoon of salt in a microwave-safe dish.
  3. Melt the butter mixture in the microwave. Be sure not to overheat the mixture. You may start with 10 seconds.
  4. Pour the butter mixture over your Chex Mix and stir together with a rubber spatula until the mixture is evenly coated. Exercise caution; melted butter can be extremely hot.
  5. Add the mix to your preheated smoker (at 225°F) for an hour.
